Washers Game Cutting Guide

Once all the pieces have been cut, drill the 4″ holes in each of the 18″ x 36″ plywood pieces. Build two games for friendly competition!!

The 3 holes are  placed 9″ from the edge and centered from the top down 7 1/2″, then 15 3/4″ from the top on center, and finally the third is 24″ from the top on center.  Mark a small “x” where the edge measurement intersects with the measurement from the top.  The center of this “x” is where you place the bit of the 4″ hole saw to cut out the holes.  Be sure to go slow and steady so that the wood does not splinter.  Lightly sand the holes once they have been cut out.

Apply trim to sides to create a finished edge.  Mount the 1″ x 2″ flush with the finished side of the plywood.  The edge pieces require 5 screws on each side and 3 screws along the top and bottom.

To help keep the wood from splitting, drill pilot holes before screwing in the trim pieces.

Dewalt tools

My Husband loves to use his DeWalt quick connect impact driver chuck so that the phillips head bit and the drill bit used to drill pilot holes can be interchanged quickly.

Pull the sock through the plastic flange spacer so the edge of the socks comes out to the  edge of the flange and fits evenly around the flange.  Center the sock and plastic flange  around the plywood hole.  Screw the flange tightly to the plywood.  Be careful that the screws pass through the sock materical and don’t catch it and bunch up.

Measure where the hinged stand will fit by placing the 41/2″ block of 1″ x 2″ next to the edge of the trim at the top underneath side of the plywood board.  Then place the plywood stand next to the 1″ x 2″ block, and finally place the 18″ x 1″ x 2″ piece tightly next to the plywood stand.
