Tassel Infinity Scarf

Tassel Infinity Scarf DIY

Hello all! My name is Caroline Hulse and I am the blogger behind

I’ve recently become slightly obsessed with tassels, so I thought: “why not put them on an infinity scarf?!” SO, here is a quick and easy tutorial on how to create a Tassel Infinity Scarf– a QUICK and EASY wearable to gift or keep for yourself!

How to make a Tassel Infinity Scarf

Supplies you’ll need:

-3/4 yards of white interlock knit fabric for the infinity scarf. The more fabric you use the “fluffier” your scarf will be.

-YARN! Many colors, one color, thin, thick.. all up to you!

-Sewing machine + standard sewing tools

First, cut your yarn. For a thicker yard (shown) you’ll want about 5 cuts of 8″ each + one cut of 4″. (For a fuller tassel, increase the number of longer strips you cut). You’ll need as many of these sets as you want tassels. I used 8 tassels.

Next, to make the tassels you simply grab your five longer strips of yard in the center, and fold them in half. Then, tie the smaller strip of yard around the folded edge of the yarns about 1/2″ from the fold. Trim the tails of the tied strip of yarn. Repeat this step for all the tassels you wish to create.

Next you’ll take your fabric and cut a rectangle that measures 30″ x 42″ (for a longer or thicker scarf, add length or width to your fabric). Lay it right side up and along the longer side and evenly distribute your tassels. Fold the opposite long side of the scarf on top of the tassels so the right sides are facing, pin in place, and sew at 3/8″ using a zig zag stitch.

Next, you’ll take one open end of the tube and fold the raw edges under. Place the other end of the tube inside this one, overlapping by about 1/2″ and top stitch. You’re finished!
